Teaching Secondary English Language Arts Fall 2025

This course will focus on teaching literacy based on the Utah Core Standards: Reading a wide range of literary genres and literary non-fiction; Writing with a focus on argument; Listening and Speaking. Teachers will be required to design their instruction based on the standards and develop student performance tasks that support increased cognitive rigor for their students. A range of strategies will be used to support teachers in meeting the learning needs of students.
