Overview and Purpose
This mandatory USBE/UDOH module trains personnel from Outside Entities to properly supervise and execute Tier 1 vision screenings in Utah schools, specifically when a school nurse is not available. The course ensures strict adherence to Utah Code § 53G-9-404 and standardized clinic procedures.
Main Goals
Ensure Compliance: Train entities on legal requirements and the UDOH approval mandate for operating within schools.
Standardize Supervision: Master the logistics and procedures for managing a Tier 1 screening clinic effectively.
Guarantee Quality: Uphold the validity and consistency of screening results and documentation.

Upon completion, participants will be able to:
Define Legal Role: Understand the specific scope and limitations of an Approved Outside Entity in the school setting.
Manage Clinic Flow: Execute setup, equipment use, and student management protocols for mass screening.
